Packing in dubai is a very tiring and tedious job. It consumes a lot of time and energy. What to pack first, where to start, how to organize etc. Hopefully you will find some of the tips below helpful.

Top packing tips

• Packing suppliers - Get lots of boxes, packing tape, color labels. Believe us, you will need plenty of them
• Pack before hand - Take plenty of time to organize and think things over and get packing supplies. Some people take a few weeks to plan, I usually take 5 days to do everything
• Start packing least important stuff first, moving towards the most important ones. I pack seldom used items first like stationery, toys, CD/DVDs, foldable chairs etc. Then I pack living room articles then move to the bed room. Kitchen items are the last because i need them everday until I move.
• Label boxes - I label boxes while packing them like KITCHEN. I number the boxes as well like 1, 2, 3 etc. Multiple boxes can be labelled KITCHEN so numbering helps. Color coding would help in identifying boxes quickly. You could color KITCHEN boxes RED for example. Label them prominently and in at least 2 sides of the box to avoid having to move boxes to find the labels.
• I seal boxes which are full or complete, this way I can forget about them and move on with the other items and boxes
• Pack Appliances, electronics - Pack all appliances, electronic items properly and make sure related accessories are packed together so you won't have to search for wires, cables, papers, adapters and power extension cords to make things work quickly in your new place.
• Sensitive items - Take care while packing sensitive and fragile items like mirrors, glasses, photo frames. Wrap and cover them with protection before packing them.
• Important items - Pack important items, papers, documents like passports, tenancy contracts, birth certificates etc. separately. If you have cash/jewelery then put them all together and take the box with you. This way you need worry only about 1 box which is the most important one.
• Unpacking can be a nighmare too especially if you have not packed it nicely. Unpack consumables and perishable items first, then unpack important stuff, get critical appliances up and running like refrigerators, washing machines, cooking range etc. followed by kitchen items and the bed room items. other lesser important items can be left for the next day.
